Aditi Ashok warmed up for this week’s Evian Championship in France with a confidence-boosting third-place finish at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium on Sunday.

Behind India’s sole LPGA star Aditi, Diksha Dagar ensured her fifth top 10 finish of the season, sharing seventh place behind event winner Carolina Chacarra of Spain.

Pranavi Urs brought in the day’s joint best card, a 6 under par 66 to gain 24 spots and share 18th place after looking to finish even higher while Avani Prashanth tied for 42nd.

Mysore’s Pranavi was on a tear through much of her Sunday round, having picked up eight birdies in 16 holes including five on the front nine before two closing bogeys dropped her down the order.

Aditi underlined her consistency in variable conditions with rounds of 70, 71, 70 and 72 to finish on 7 under 281, closing with five birdies against three dropped shots.

Having fallen away somewhat on the back nine, she picked up two birdies on her final two holes to seal sole third place.

Good company

At the top, Carolina emulated her Indian Open-winning brother Eugenio with a maiden European title ahead of Australia’s Kelsey Bennet to be the first rookie champion of the 2026 season.

Trailing Bennet by two shots before the start of play at Hulencourt Golf Club, Chacarra carded a bogey-free 4 under 68 for the trophy on 12 under 276.

“The day went great and I’m so happy,” the Spanish rookie said on the Ladies European Tour website.

“No bogeys, some nice birdies, everything was great. My caddie talked about it at the beginning of the round about sticking to my process. We gave ourselves lots of chances on the back-nine.

“I was definitely nervous, especially the last three holes. My goal was just to enjoy the week and try to get into the Scottish Open. So to win is amazing and I’m very happy.”

It made for a successful month for the Chacarra family after Eugenio won back-to-back titles on the DP World Tour a few weeks ago at the KLM Open and Italian Open.

Looking ahead

“Life is treating us amazing. My brother is my inspiration and to see him win gave me lots of momentum to keep going and try to win myself. I’m very happy. I’m super excited for the next month.

“It definitely changes my calendar but it’s always great to play a Major. I’m very excited and can’t wait to be there.”

Sharing fourth place two strokes behind Aditi on 4 under 284 were Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux and Bronte Law of England, both past LET winners.

Next up is the Amundi Evian Championship at the magnificent Evian Resort in France, the fourth Major of the year which tees off on Thursday.
