Vani Kapoor seeks follow-up success after Clover Greens win

Clover Greens winner Vani Kapoor headlines another strong domestic field in leg 10 of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Zion Hills Golf County in Kolar near Bangalore.

Vani, who staged a fine final round rally to win the ninth leg last week for her first success in 2026, tees off with the hugely talented Mannat Brar and amateur Tanishka Prithvi in the opening round, the WGAI said.

The Gurgaon golfer will once again face a stiff challenge from the likes of three-time 2026 winner Ridhima Dilawari and Amandeep Drall who had a good run last week.

Also in the mix are the seasoned Tvesa Malik and Saanvi Somu, who has been gaining experience by playing on the Ladies Access Tour in Europe.

Former Order of Merit winner Sneha Singh has been off-colour lately and will look at getting back to her old form and rhythm.

Vidhatri Urs, Anvitha Narender, Seher Atwal and the experienced Neha Tripathi are also out seeking a return to winning ways.

Looking ahead

Hitaashee Bakshi, another former Hero Order of Merit winner and multiple champion on the Tour will hope to get her clubs warmed up after a struggle on the Ladies European Tour.

On Hitaashee’s radar is not just a return to form but also preparation for October’s Hero Women’s Indian Open, where she almost won last year.

Once again the field has two sets of sisters – Heena and Ceerat Kang, and the Jadon sisters, Lavanya and Riya, both of whom have been showing great promise.

With 57 players in the field, the organisers have once again resorted to a two tee start and the field includes nine amateurs. 

The last few seasons have seen amateurs make a mark on the pro circuit even before joining the paid ranks. The current lot also see the WPGT events as a testing ground for bigger challenges ahead.
