Gaurika Bishnoi and Jahanvi Bakshi entered the final qualifying round of the Ladies European Tour (LET) where they will join Vani Kapoor and Amandeep Drall in a bid to earn a full Tour card later this week.

Pre-Qualifying at the LET Q-School was played over four rounds at the La Manga Club’s North and South courses with 75 entrants going through to the final stage that begins three days from now.

While Gaurika finished in tied 17th place on 3-over par 291 (75-73-70-73), Jahanvi, a four-time winner this year on the WGAI’s Hero Pro Tour was T-37 on 6-over 294 (75-70-79-70).

The cut, which also saw 13 amateurs go through, fell at 12-over 300.

Not making the grade from a sizeable Indian contingent at La Manga were Seher Atwal and Sharmila Nicollet on 13-over 301, Pranavi Urs (304), Hitaashee Bakshi (305), Durga Nittur (310), Asmitha Sathish (312), Suchitra Ramesh (325), and Gauri Karhaded (331).

Swedish topper

The LET pre-qualifying round was topped by Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson with 9-under 279 (67-70-69-73), one shot up on Georgia Izemgbe of Nigeria, who had cards of 75, 69, 70,, and 66 which was the best score on Sunday.

The Q-School’s final four rounds will be played at La Manga between December 16 and 20 with practice rounds over Tuesday and Wednesday.

La Manga Club hosted the series last January which was won by Wales’ Amy Boulden, who followed up her Q School win by clinching her maiden victory at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open, the LET noted.

Last year, Sharmila Nicollet, Vani Kapoor, and Amandeep Drall missed out on their LET cards, but it still gave them limited access to the Tour’s events.

Both Vani and Amandeep benefited from that opportunity this year and did enough to go through directly to the Q-School’s final stage for 2022.

Both will be hoping for better this time, along with Gaurika and Jahanvi between Thursday and Sunday this week.
