Tvesa, Sneha face amateur challenge at Hero WPGT 10th leg

Tvesa Malik continues her search for elusive form as she tees off in the tenth leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Prestige Golfshire near Bangalore on Wednesday.

Tvesa is in a field of 37 competing for the Rs 12 lakh purse though a group of talented amateurs are set to challenge the professionals as they have done so far.

Tvesa and two-time winner Sneha Singh, the seasoned Neha Tripathi, Hitaashee Bakshi, and Khushi Khanijau are among those needing to take on the threat.

Vidhatri Urs, winner by 13 shots in the ninth leg, leads a strong set of amateurs including Keerthana Rajeev Nair, who finished runner-up in the previous week,

Saanvi Somu and Mannat Brar are also in the fray after having found success on the Indian Golf Union circuit.

Strong challenge

The field includes 31 professionals and six amateurs, all capable of upsetting the pros.

The last two events have seen amateurs show that they are Hero WPGT stars of the future as Vidhatri won the ninth leg, while Keerthana finished second.

For her part, Saanvi Somu was runner-up to Vidhatri in the ninth leg.

Prestige Golfshire, one of India’s premier courses is hosting its second events in a row.

With several top pros away on international duty, Sneha too has a chance to extend her led on the Hero Order of Merit,

Second-placed Seher Atwal is playing in the Singapore Ladies Masters alongside Pranavi Urs and amateur Avani Prashanth during the ongoing week.
