Tourism Authority of Thailand holds networking event in Capital

India is an important market for Thailand in terms of both casual as well as focussed tourists, Tourism Authority of Thailand deputy governor Tanes Petsuwan said in the capital earlier this week.

“Also, given the variety and range of courses in different the different regions of Thailand, it is a natural destination for Indian golfers, who have been visiting in good numbers after restrictions were eased,” Tanes said.

“We are happy to welcome visitors in ever-increasing numbers to destinations like Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Khao Yai, and Phuket,” the TAT deputy governor for International Marketing, Asia and South Pacific added.

The occasion was held under the “Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise Networking” banner.

The event, preceded by a tournament at the Delhi Golf Club was also addressed by Pattaya’s deputy mayor, Ms Titipun Pettrakul, who updated guests, travel agents and industry representatives on her city and its attractions.

Kullatorn Mesommonta, President of EGA Thailand briefed those present about golf courses around Pattaya and the eastern region of the country.

Representatives from various organisations including Royong Green Valley, Royal Hills Golf Resort & Spa, Kabin Buri Sport Club, Treasure Hill Golf Club, Bangpra International Golf Club and Underwater World Pattaya were also present.

Thailand boasts of over 250 golf courses throughout the country, situated on the seaside, in the mountains, by lakes, inside the cities even besides its airports.
