Tvesa Malik continued to make excellent use of her time on the Ladies European Tour, missing out on the top 10 by a shot at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France on Saturday.

The Delhi girl, in her 17th LET start of the season finished in a share of 12th place with a final round of 1-under par 70 at the Golf du Medoc near Bordeaux.

Tvesa, 25, had rounds of 69, 70 and 70 to aggregate 4-under 209, seven shots behind the winner, Celine Boutier of France.

Boutier (68-66-68, 11-under 202), who led coming into the final day, survived a battle down to the wire with Scotland’s Kylie Henry (70-65-68).

Last week at the Swiss Ladies Open, Tvesa finished tied 11th

The rising Indian star has two birdies against one dropped shot in her outbound nine holes on Saturday. She then swapped bogey for birdie on her way home.

In all now, from her 38 LET starts, Tvesa has five top-10s and stands 20th in the Race to Costa Del Sol, the LET’s Order of Merit.

Gaurika, Ridhima shine

On the LET’s feeder Access Series on Friday, Gaurika Bishnoi brought in a tied sixth-place finish at the Lavaux Ladies Open also played in France.

The five-time winner on the domestic circuit was 4-under 212 (71-72-69) and Ridhima Dilawari was T9 with rounds of 74, 69 and 70 on 3-under 213.

Amandeep Drall (73-73-72), T4 at the Flumserberg Open a fortnight ago, finished tied-22nd alongside Pranavi Urs (71-74-73), who is on her first major tour of Europe.

Vani Kapoor was tied for 33rd with rounds of 75, 74 and 72.

Scotland’s Gabrielle Macdonald took the title in a playoff against England’s Gemma Clews for her second LET Access Series title in 2021.

Playoff decider

The 28-year-old began the day in a tie for fifth place on 4-under and produced a round of 69 to finish the tournament on seven-under-par, the LET said.

Clews carded a round of 68 (-4) to set the clubhouse lead, before Macdonald rolled in a birdie on 18 to ensure a playoff.

A par on the playoff hole was enough for the Scotswoman to earn her second playoff victory in the space of four events.

Three French amateurs were next on the leader-board with Ariane Klotz and Emma Falcher finishing T3 on 6-under-par, while Nastasia Nadaud was one shot further back in solo fifth place.

The three tied for sixth were Gaurika, England’s Katrina Gillum and Spain’s Teresa Diez Moliner with rounds of 69, 71 and 72 respectively.

In a share of ninth place were Sweden’s Corinne Viden, Ridhima, Dutch amateur Anne-Sterre den Dunnen and Finland’s Emilia Tukiainen.
