Thai Golf Passport fourth season gets a Delhi launch

Season four of the Thai Golf Pass loyalty programme was launched earlier this week by Vachirachai Sirisumpan, director of Tourism Authority of Thailand’s New Delhi office.

The initiative, launched in 2017, offers Indian golfers a rounded experience while visiting Thailand, from stay to transportation, equipment, and of course golf courses.

“Golf is an important segments which we focus on and continue to promote Thailand as Indian golfer’s favourite destination, Mr Vachirachai said on the occasion.

“Destination diversity and vast choices of golf courses throughout the country are key factors attracting the large numbers of visitors coming to play golf in Thailand.

“I am happy to work closely with SLW to launch “Thai Golf Pass” – Season 4 and would be more excited to see all golfers joining the programme.

“I would like to take this opportunity and look forward to welcoming all Indian golfers to have first tee off in Amazing Thailand once the situation improves,” he added.

Encouraging signs

Mr Vachirachai also addressed the issue of Thailand opening up for visitors and said he was confident that it would come about sooner than later, especially with encouraging news on the Covid-18 vaccination front.

Thailand offered something for everyone, of diverse interests, age and budget, he added.

From pristine beaches to lush jungles, bustling cities to traditional villages, Michelin star menus to roadside noodle stalls, historic Buddhist temples to 21st century sky-scrapers, it was truly an amazing package, he added.

“To promote the experience, SLW launched the first ever loyalty programme for a country in 2017 to offer Indian golfers a seamless experience in Thailand,” said SLW managing director Anil Dev.

“More than 250 service providers like Callaway and a number of golf courses, resorts and hotels are on board as partners.

“While the travel business took a hit due to Covid19, we are gearing up to make Thailand the destination of choice when travel resumes,” he added.

Common platform

“Thai Golf Passport creates a membership that shares common values and interests. It also provides an engaging golfing and networking platform for all stake holders,” said Prashant Singh of Callaway India.

“We are excited to partner with this innovative initiative for the fourth season which helps us reach our customers directly.

The inaugural season of the initiative saw the website launch, promotional events in India and Bangkok, 83 loyalty partners, and 2,307 membership registrations.
