With her breakthrough win in Kolkata last week, Sneha Singh will be keen to build on the momentum at the Tollygunge Club from Tuesday.

The Hyderabad youngster has been making a mark on the Hero WPGT for some time and came through with a maiden professional title at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, a venue that holds family ties for her.

Sneha has been paired with Vani Kapoor, making only her second start this season, the WGAI said.

Vani was second in the second leg at Mumbai and has since then been working on her game ahead of a busy season ahead on the Ladies European Tour.

Amandeep Drall, who finished tied sixth last week, was tied third in the second leg. She will surely be looking at a better finish and a crack at her first title in 2023.

Both Vani and Amandeep are slated to play the Joburg Ladies open on Ladies European Tour in the first week of March.

Seher Atwal despite having earned her LET card is waiting to get her first start. In the meantime she continues to play on the Hero WPGT.

Seher will be paired with Trimann Saluja and Lakhmehar Pardesi. Seher, winner of the first leg, was tied fourth last week.

Good run

Among the youngsters to watch out for is Jasmine Shekar, who had a great week at RCGC where she gave Sneha a run for her money.

The Bangalore teenager seemed set for a maiden win, but succumbed to pressure and fell into a tie which she lost in the third play-off hole to Sneha.

The experience will stand the 18-year-old in good stead at this week’s fourth leg that carries a purse pf Rs 10 lakh and will see 32 players in action.

Two other players hoping to get some results and move upwards on the pro circuit are the experienced Neha Tripathi and Astha Madan.

There are six amateurs in the field, Smriti Bhargav, Lavanya Jadon, Anaahat Bindra, Rishika Muralidhar, Janneya Dasanniee and Aashera Sethi.
