Pranavi leads Amandeep by one in 11th leg opener of Hero WPGT

Four-time titleist Pranavi Urs took the first-day lead in the 11^th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour with a 3-under par 69 at Panchkula on Wednesday.

The Mysore girl showed little signs of the that had hamoered her earlier in the season for a one-shot lead over ore-event favourite Amandeep Drall at the Panchkula Golf Club.

Pranavi, who won once earlier this year, had four birdies against one bogey, while Amandeep, winner last week at Chandigarh, had two bogeys against four birdies, three of which came on the back nine.

Pranavi’s four titles are evenly divided between her time as an amateur and after professional.

Seher Atwal had two birdies in the last three holes in her card of 1-under 71. She had one bogey on par-5 15^th and then birdies on 16th and 17th.

Lakhmehar Pardesi (73) was fourth, while amateur Kriti Chowhan and Jahanvi Bakshi shot 74s each.

Vani Kapoor (75) was sixth. Amateur Avani Prashanth and Rhea Jha carded 76s while Hitaashee Bakshi, amateur Puneet K. Bajwa, Rhea Saravanan, Gauri Karhade and Ishvari Prasanna were T10 on 5-over 77.

Pranavi, who also went to Europe for a couple of starts to test her game, found her rhythm early.

She birdied the second and fifth holes but dropped a shot on the seventh.

Birdies on 11 and 15 added to her overall display as she closed with a 69, the only sub-70 round of the day.
