Neha Tripathi will have an extra spring in her step when she tees off in the 11th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Bangalore Golf Club on Wednesday.

Having chalked up a long-awaited win at Golfshire last week, she heads a 39-players field for the Rs. 12 lakh event at BGC in a good frame of mind.

The 31-year-old who turned pro in 2010, went through more than four and a half years without a win before beating back a strong challenge from a bunch of younger players, some of whom are still amateurs.

“I knew I was on the right track and I was playing well, but all the pieces finally fell into place,” said Neha, who before last week had won in early 2019.

“It is always nice to get the win and it brings a lot of satisfaction.”

Tvesa Malik is another looking for that feeling after a couple of tough seasons on the Ladies European Tour, where she only has a limited status this year.

Seeking success

Tvesa, 27, last won on the Hero WPGT in 2021 and has been trying to play herself back into form on the domestic circuit where she started out in 2017.

Gaurika Bishnoi, who missed the last two events due to personal commitments, won her last start, the eighth leg, and is back in the reckoning.

Gaurika, who has been working on her game, is hoping to get into the right frame by the time the LET’s Qualifying School comes around. She has won twice this season and twice been runner-up as well.

Sneha Singh is the only player besides Gaurika to have won more than once this season.

The Hyderabad golfer leads the Order of Merit with titles in the third leg at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club and the fifth at the Golden Greens in Gurgaon.
