Fired by her last outing at Clover Greens, Gaurika Bishnoi shot a 4 under 68 for the first round lead in the eighth leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour on Wednesday.
Gaurika, a multiple winner on the Hero WPG Tour, emerged as champion at the last event at the Hosur course in 2019.
Gaurika opened with three birdies and one dropped shot on her outbound nine on Wednesday.
On her way back, she picked up a further four shots against two bogeys, including one on the closing hole.
Seher Atwal underlined how much she has gained from playing Ladies European Tour events, as she returned a solid 3 under 69 that contained four birdies against one bogey that gave her sole possession of second place.

Four players, including two amateurs, were tied for third place on 1 under 71 – amateurs Keerthana Reddy and Saanvi Somu, and young pros Hitaashee Bakshi and Sachika Singh.
Kriti Chowhan and Jasmine Shekar were tied for seventh on level par 72, while things did not go as well for Sneha Singh, a two-time winner this year.
The Hyderabad girl was tied-ninth with a rollercoaster 73 that included six birdies against five bogeys and a double. Tied for ninth with Sneha were Anisha Agarwalla and amateur Ayushi Dutta.
The seasoned Tvesa Malik had a rough start with a 4 over 76 that included a double bogey and a quadruple.
