India’s longest-running corporate golf tournament has tied up with the domestic DP World Professional Golf Tour of India to bring together corporate leadership and professional sport.
The professional tour and Business Today, India’s premier business multiverse, announced the partnership with BT Golf at the Qutub Golf Course, New Delhi on Tuesday.
The preview event featured Tour president Kapil Dev and chioef executive Amandeep Johl, alongside professional golfers and group editors at a pitch-and-putt session to mark the partnership.
“It is time for a paradigm shift in thinking away from golf as an elite activity and making it more of an aspirational target,” the 1983 World Cup-winning captain emphasised.
The collaboration strategically merges Business Today’s deep-rooted connection with India’s business ecosystem with DP World PGTI’s professional tournament expertise.
Driving force
Together, the organisations aim to drive mainstream visibility, spark deeper engagement between business and golf professionals, and bring the sport closer to a broader audience.
As part of this growth strategy, BT Golf will maintain its multi-city format across major corporate hubs, with plans already underway to add more locations in the future.
“We aim to encourage India Inc to experience the discipline, patience, and sportsmanship that golf represents,” Kapil Dev said.
“It is encouraging to see Business Today and DP World PGTI working together to take the sport to a wider audience.”
Speaking about the partnership India Today group CEO Dinesh Bhatia, said,”BT Golf has, over the years, created a distinctive platform at the intersection of sport and business.
“By strengthening our partnership with the DP World PGTI, we are committed to expanding the horizons of Indian golf, making it more visible and engaging.”
Sharing his perspective on the partnership, Johl added, “Our partnership brings together the worlds of professional golf and corporate India.
Vibrant platform
“BT Golf provides a wonderful platform to promote the sport and its values of integrity, discipline and sportsmanship.
“This partnership will benefit our professional golfers by providing them with a unique opportunity to interact and build meaningful relationships with some of India’s leading business leaders.
“We look forward to expanding the reach of golf and creating greater opportunities for our players.”
Speaking on the occasion, BT COO Alok Nair said, “For over three decades, Business Today has been at the forefront of India’s business conversations, connecting influential leaders and shaping the nation’s corporate narrative.
“Business Today Golf is where business meets the greens.
“What makes BT Golf special is the community it has built while being India’s first corporate golf platform over 27 years, bringing together some of the sharpest minds from across industries.”
The 27th edition of BT Golf tees off at Kolkata’s iconic Tollygunge Club on October 31.
