In a major boost for fans and followers of the game, global smart logistics provider DP World has confirmed its support of the DP World India Championship till 2035, it was announced on Sunday.
England’s Tommy Fleetwood won the inaugural event at the Delhi Golf Club in 2025 and Sunday saw the crowing of Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra at the second edition of the $4 million tournament, the DP World PGTI said.
This follows the global smart logistics provider’s support of the DP World Tour, the largest in its history, as title partner also till 2035.
The original tour title partnership agreement saw the European Tour renamed the DP World Tour — which now spans 42 events in 25 countries — in 2022.
The DP World India Championship underscores India’s growing influence as a destination for elite golf and as a strategic market for DP World, and the extended tournament title partnership will see the event remain a fixture on the Race to Dubai for the next nine years, the tour said.
The DGC event is co-sanctioned with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India.
With DP World becoming title and official umbrella partner of the PGTI earlier this year, the tournament broadens the company’s sporting footprint in India, which includes supporting the Delhi Capitals men’s and women’s cricket teams.
It also backs grassroots programmes that donate equipment and improve facilities to grow golf in the country.
Long-term presence
Yuvraj Narayan, group CEO of DP World, said: “India is one of the most important markets in global trade, and we want to be here for the long term.
“Extending our support of the DP World India Championship to 2035 puts it alongside our title partnership of the DP World Tour for the next decade.
“In two editions, this tournament has brought the world’s best golfers to Delhi and given Indian players the chance to compete with them at home. Together with our partnership of the DP World PGTI, it gives the next generation a clear path to the very top of the game, and we’re proud to keep building on that.”
The 2026 DP World India Championship was the eighth of nine events in the ‘Back 9’ phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, and saw Chacarra go to the top of the Order of Merit heading into the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next month.
The 2025 Hero Indian Open winner leads the Race to Dubai Rankings delivered by DP World over Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy with one more event in Korea left of the regular season followed by play-off events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai next month.
Fleetwood’s title march last year also marked the DP World Tour’s return to the DGC for the first time since 2016.
