Amandeep Drall dropped shots late but still held a share of the first-day lead with Pranavi Urs at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club on Wednesday.

The duo shot one-under 69s in the second leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour in Mumbai and were one ahead of Mysore golfer Disha Kavery (70), in her third season as a pro.

Amateurs Vidhatri Urs (71) and Nishna Patel (72) were third and fourth while Vani Kapoor, who shifts focus to the Ladies European Tour next month, carded 73 after a rough front nine.

She was three-over as were Asmitha Sathish and Afshan Fatima, the WGAI said.

Sneha Singh, Lakhmehar Pardesi, Khushi Khanijau and Ananya Datar were tied for ninth on 75.

Amandeep, playing for the first time since the 2022 season-ending events on the LET, had an early bogey but three birdies in a row before the turn and another on 11 saw her go to three-under.

She then dropped two late shots to finish on 69.

Contrasting fare

In contrast, Pranavi, who is likely to play on the Epson Tour in the US this season, birdied twice early but then dropped a shot to reach the turn in one-under.

She parred every hole on the back nine for her 69.

Disha Kavery had one bogey on the front nine and another on the way back, but two back-to-back birdies saw her card a level par 70.

Last week’s winner Seher Atwal had a difficult day with a seven-over 77.

She bogeyed three in a row around the turn then a double after that to increase her woes as she finished bogey-bogey for tied 15th.

Ridhima Dilawari had an even worse start at nine-over 79 with six bogeys and a triple..
