Amandeep Drall will look back at 2021 as a job well done. On Monday, she finished in the top-40 of the Ladies European Tour Q-School Final Stage to cap a year she also topped the money list at home.
At La Manga in Spain, Amandeep was the only Indian to have made the four-day cut. In Round 5 on Monday, she carded a 4-over par 77 on the par-73 South Course that included four bogeys against two birdies.
Her final standing with a five-day 7-over aggregate means she will have Category 15 status on the LET for the coming season
Two days earlier, Amandeep was confirmed as the domestic Hero Order of Meri topper for the season. All in all, a job well done for the 27-year-old who is based in Panchkula.
The other three, Vani Kapoor, Jahanvi Bakshi, and Gaurika Bishnoi, failed to make the cut, finishing outside the top-70 and ties who progressed into the fifth day.
Vani, who made it to Round 5 last year was T96 (80-74-81-69) this time, Jahamvi was T101 (78-78-75-74) and Gaurika T122 (76-76-80-79).
According to the LET website, on the basis of the Q-School Finals performance, the top 20 (and ties) earned Category 11 status, the next 30 in Category 15 and the rest in Category 18 (all providing different levels of access to the main Tour).
Gabriella Then of the US topped the five-day Final Q-School stage with a 12-under par 353 349 (70-73-68-71), and a 6-under 67 from her final round.
The American was four shots better than second-placed Lisa Pettersson of Sweden on 8-under with cards of 73, 71, 67, 70 and 72.
Domestic queen
Amandeep also dominated the final standings on the domestic Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour with season’s earnings of Rs 16,50,750 that included three wins.
She finished comfortably ahead of Vani Kapoor (Rs 14,74,550) with one win in her 18 starts. Jahanvi Bakshi was third on Rs 13,32,733 and four wins.
