Vidhatri seeks back-to-back wins on Hero Women’s Pro Tour

Rookie pro Vidhatri Urs will look to make it a Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour title double in its 10th leg at the par-72 Prestige Golfshire near Bangalore from Wednesday.

The Mysore golfer, who captured her first professional title at the nearby Clover Greens last week, will want to cash in on the form that has seen her take a win and two podiums in three starts as a pro.

The 38-strong field will be vying for a Rs 13 lakh prize fund and looks a strong one in the presence of the current merit leader Hitaashee Bakshi and last year’s topper Sneha Singh, who have won twice each this year.

The field also has eighth-leg winner Anvitha Narender, seasoned Golden Greens leg champion Amandeep Drall and the returning Neha Tripathi, the WGAI said.

Comeback bid

While Amandeep is looking for greater consistency this season, Neha is making a comeback from a back injury.

Vidhatri Urs, cousin of top pro Pranavi Urs, has been in excellent form. She was third in her first two appearances and then took a convincing win in the third last week.

Some of the other young pros waiting to make a mark include Durga Nittur, Jasmine Shekar, Gourabi Bhowmick, Anahita Singh, and Karishma Govind.

The amateurs have also shown a lot of promise with Saanvi Somu and Mannat Brar being the more prominent players and who have also turned out for India.

Apart from the in-form Saanvi and Mannat, the other amateurs in the field are Aaradhya Shetty, Anuradha Chaudhuri, Keerthana Rajeev and Kaya Daluwatte of Sri Lanka.
