On a day scoring continued to be a difficult job at the Noida Golf Course, Jahanvi Bakshi joined overnight leader Lakhmehar Pardesi at the top with a round to go.

The seventh leg winner did not have the best card of the day but it was good enough to give her a share of the lead after two rounds in the ninth leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour on Thursday.

Rain and heavy ground conditions continued to make scoring difficult but Seher Atwal and amateur Sneha Singh carded creditable rounds of 2-over 74 each to close in on the leaders.

Jahanvi followed her 78 of the first day with a 75 to total 9-over 153 alongside Lakhmehar (75-78), who had a tough day.

Seher Atwal (80-74) was tied third alongside Hitaashee Bakshi (79-75) on 10-over 154.

Though scores have been high due to the conditions, which included a long rain stop this morning, the close tussle will make it a battle of nerves.

Tight contest

As many as six players are within two shots and they include the winners of the last two legs of the Hero WPG Tour.

Sneha (81-74) improved in her second round by seven shots to get to 11-over 155 and she trails the leaders by two shots.

The Hyderabad teenager (81-74) was Tied-fifth with Trimann Saluja (77-78) while Shweta Mansingh was seventh (80-77).

Four players including Saaniya Sharma, Siddhi Kapoor and amateurs Avani Prashanth and Nishna Patel were tied for eighth place.

The top 18 pros and five amateurs made the cut which fell at 165. Some well-known names missed out included Suchitra Ramesh, Gauri Karhade, Mehar Atwal and amateur Vidhatri Urs.

The final round on Friday will see Lakhmehar and Jahanvi go out with Seher, while Trimann Saluja, Sneha and Hitaashee Bakshi will be one group ahead.
