Tvesa Malik leads after tough opener at Prestige Golfshire

A week after a bunch of low scores at Clover Greens, strong winds took a toll on the field at Prestige Golfshire on Wednesday with only Tvesa Malik, winner of the third leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour managing a level par 72 in the 32-member field.

Tvesa led Millie Saroha by one shot, while Ridhima Dilawari, one of two players to have won more than once this season, was third with a round of 74.

Fourth placed was Khushi Khanijau on a 3-over 75, and last week’s winner Gaurika Bishnoi, who had a rough back nine of 4-over 40, was fifth.

Astha Madan and amateur Sneha Sharan were tied sixth on 78s while another amateur Asmitha Sathish shot 79 to be eighth.

Gursimar Badwal, Ananya Datar, Neha Tripathi and Siddhi Kapoor were bunched together at tied 10th with cards of 80 each.

Par finish

Tvesa opened with a bogey and she went two-over with another dropped shot by the fourth hole. She recovered with birdies on fifth, 10th, 13th and 14th, but also dropped further shots on the 11th and 15th holes for a card of 72.

Milliie had three bogeys in her first 15 holes, but fought back with two birdies in her final three holes, while Ridhima, who opened with two early birdies thereafter dropped four shots to finish at 2o-over 74.

Khushi had the day’s most eventful round with five birdies against eight bogeys for her 3-over 75.
