Tvesa Malik Sandhu and Vani Kapoor were in a share of fourth place after 36 holes at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open in Rotkreuz, Switzerland, on Saturday.

While Tvesa added a second straight 3 under par 68 to total 6 under 136, Vani, who opened with a 66 brought in a 1 under 70 on Saturday to join her compatriot and two others.

Vani and Tvesa were two strokes behind day two leader Fatima Fernandez Cano of Spain (68-66) at the Golfpark Holzhäusern.

Also making the cut was Ridhima Dilawari (72-69) while Amandeep Drall and Seher Atwal failed to progress into Sunday’s final round.

Behind Cano, two players were tied for second on 7 under 135 including Sweden’s Sara Kjelker (66), and Kristyna Napoleava (68) of Czechia.

Ridhima Dilawari, who had four birdies in her first six holes finished with 69 following three bogeys and a birdie in her last five holes and at 1 under 141, she was tied for 35th place.

Good outing

“It was just a good day,” the 28-year-old Fernandez Cano said on the LET website.

“Yesterday was not quite as solid, it was a bit more of a grind and I made some longer putts. Whereas today it was about hitting a bunch of greens and a bunch of fairways. I think I only missed one green and that was by like two feet or something. I gave myself a bunch of opportunities.

“The conditions are great. The course is very nice. It is very hot here. I’m quite used to it but we did have to adjust because the ball is flying very high because of where we are. It’s humid and hot. Other than that it’s great.”

Home favourite Chiara Tamburlini was one back from the group that included Vani and Tvesa on 5 under par.

She was joined by the English trio of Rosie Davies, Amy Taylor, and Alice Hewson, Spain’s Maria Hernandez and France’s Anne-Charlotte Mora.

The cut was imposed at 2 over par 144 with 63 making it through to Sunday.
