Thai Golf Passport enters Season 2 with more on offer

The Thai Golf Passport programme designed to drive golf-orientated traffic to the Kingdom on a regular basis that also rewards its members entered season two with more features, partners and a new set of targets.

Launched by SLW and supported by Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thai Golf Passport is designed to offer Indian golfers a seamless experience, integrating courses, travel and hospitality partners almost all of it through the Internet.

The inaugural season saw the website launch, promotional events in India and Bangkok, 83 loyalty partners signing up and 2,307 membership registrations.

According to TAT, a total of 522 golfers travelled using the Thailand under Golf Pass, their first such scheme for any country.

Bigger targets

Season two has set bigger targets with up to 200 partners and aiming to sign up 5,000 more users.

“Thai Golf Passport was launched in India to offer golfers benefits of this rewards programme whenever they tee off in Thailand,” said SLW managing director Anil Dev at the Delhi Golf Club. 

“Service providers like Thai Airways, Cox & Kings, Callaway and a number of golf courses, resorts and hotels have come together to partner this initiative,” he added.

“I would like to congratulate all the partners of Thai Golf Pass, for the successful launch of this project.” said Isra Stapanaseth, director, Tourism Authority of Thailand,New Delhi office.

“Thailand, is a golf paradise with more than 250 international standard courses, professional caddies, warm hospitality, wellness, food and entertainment. We look forward to Indian golfers being part of this programme and experience the services on offer for them,” he added 

‘Wider experience’

“Golf has long been the game of corporate and business people who are also avid travellers,” said Shashank Chaudhary, sales and marketing director, Callaway Golf India.

“Thai Golf Passport creates a membership that shares common values and interests, and at the same time provides an engaging platform for stake holders-members and sponsors.

“We are excited to partner with this innovative initiative which helps us reaching our customers directly.”

Commenting on the initiative, Chitranjan Bakhshi, business head, Golf Holidays, Cox & Kings said, “This is a great initiative for golf tourists. We believe in providing quality service to our customer and it will be our endeavour to work towards successful implementation of the project.”

Said Sunil Kumar, head of sales, Thai Airways, ‘”We being the national carrier it was natural that we be a part of the initiative, we look forward to a successful season two.”
