Monday night’s TGL double-header at the SoFi Centre in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida in a desperate battle to improve their positions in the team standings headed into the semi-final playoffs.

The first match will pit second-placed Los Angeles Golf Club against New York Golf Club who are presently fourth and bottom of the pile Boston Common Golf take on Atlanta Drive GC who are third in the league.

The Bay GC lead the table as things stand with six points from their three matches while LA, Atlanta and New York GC are second third and fourth.

Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links GC are fifth while Rory McIlroy’s Boston are in last place with two and one point respectively after all six teams have completed three matches each.

Monday will also see Tony Finau make a one-match debut for LA GC and he will be playing alongside Collin Morikawa and Sahith Theegala as Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose are unavailable. TGL rules allow for teams to select a PGA Tour member to fill in under certain circumstances.

“I’ve watched many of the TGL matches these past six weeks and I’m looking forward to getting a chance to be a part of it and compete. Team golf is always fun and exciting,” Finau said on the TGL website.

“Collin, Sahith, Justin and Tommy are great guys that I respect and enjoy being around. I appreciate Los Angeles Golf Club calling me up for this match.

Electric atmosphere

“I’m excited to get to SoFi Centre. The place looks electric, and I can’t wait to see it all first-hand and practice with the team. Monday is going to be a fun night.”

Both matches will air on ESPN and are available to stream on ESPN+.

Last week, New York dominated Tiger’s Jupiter Links GC in a 10-3 scoreline to record their first win in the tech-heavy, arena-style TGL. On Monday they will field an unchanged line-up of Cameron Young, Matt Fitzpatrick and Rickie Fowler.

In the second match, Boston, nicknamed The Ballfrogs, have fought hard but are winless with two defeats in their three matches thus far.

Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama and McIlroy will be hoping to reverse fortunes against the Atlanta squad of Justin Thomas, Billy Horschel and Patrick Cantlay.

Bay Hill GC lead the table with six points from their three matches with Ludvig Aberg, Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark and Min Woo Lee all in good form having seen off Boston 5-4, Atlanta 6-5 before whipping New York 9-2.

Los Angeles are a solid second with five points from their three games that include two wins while Atlanta and NY are third and fourth on four and two points respectively.
