Sneha hoping to extend title run at Hero WPGT sixth leg

Sneha Singh will bid to add a third title to her haul of the season at the sixth leg of the Hero women’s pro tour in Gurgaon from Wednesday.

While Sneha achieved multiple wins as an amateur, since turning professional she topped the third leg and then the fifth leg last week, the WGAI said.

The Hyderabad youngster is now hoping to hit her stride early at the Classic Golf & Country Club this week.

This week Sneha will have to contend with the tour’s top stars who are all playing from their international engagements.

Amandeep Drall, runner-up at the 2022 Hero Women’s Indian Open, Vani Kapoor, who had a top-15 finish at the Women’s South African Open last week, and Tvesa Malik, a LET regular are all in the draw.

Also in the running is last week’s runner-up Gaurika Bishnoi, who missed out in the fifth leg by a single shot, Seher Atwal with one win this year, and Hitaashee Bakshi, a multiple winner who is coming back from injury.

Experienced challenge

Other experienced hands in the field are Neha Tripathi, Saaniya Sharma and Gursimar Badwal, who makes a return after a long gap due to injury.

Two amateurs to watch will be the talented Nishna Patel, who last week made the cut and finished T35 at the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific in Singapore and Lavanya Jadon, who made her international debut at the same event.

Anvvi Dahhiya, Rishika Muralidhar, Keerthana Rajeev and Nandita Kumar are the other amateurs playing this week.

There are 38 players including six amateurs in the Rs.12 lakh event’s field.

Sneha leads the Hero Order of Merit with Seher Atwal second and Jasmine Shekar third.
