Sneha Singh shot the day’s round of 2 under par 68 to hold a one-shot lead in round two of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour leg at Kolkata’s Tollygunge Club on Thursday.

Sneha (71-68), the Hero Order of Merit topper in 2023, is now the only player sub-par at 1 under 139 ahead of first round leader Vani Kapoor (68-72), the WGAI said.

Anvitha Narender, who won her maiden professional title last season, was sole third with cards of 74 and 72.

Jasmine Shekar (74-73) and Ravjot K. Dosanjh (72-75) were tied for fourth at 3 over 147.

The Hyderabad-based Sneha, who last won the Hero WPGT fourth leg in February last year, had a bogey on the second hole but made up with birdies on holes three and eight.

Further birdies on 11 and 15 took her to 3 under but a dropped shot on the final hole saw her finish on 68.

Vani had a roller-coaster round with three birdies, three bogeys and three pars on the front nine and a further three dropped shots on the back nine on holes 10, 12 and 14. A birdie on 17 saw her finish at 2 over.

Good comeback

Anvitha had three bogeys in the first five holes but did well to come back with three birdies. However, she also gave away two more bogeys for a 72.

Kriti Chowhan (75-73) was sixth at 4-over 148, Khushi Khanijau (73-77) was seventh at 6 over 150 and Noida GC’s Anahita Singh (74-78) eighth on 8 over 152.

Jamshedpur opening leg winner Rhea Purvi Sarvanan (78-75) and Lavanya Jadon (76-77) shared ninth place.

Some big names continued to struggle as Vidhatri Urs (79-75) was T11. Neha Tripathi (81-75) improved but was still tied 14th along with Seher Atwal (77-79).

Amandeep Drall (79-79) made the cut on the line, which was 14 over 148. Twenty-two players went through to the final round.
