With a 1-2 finish at the last event in Mumbai, Sneha Singh and Hitaashee Bakshi line up again at Kolkata’s Tollygunge Club in the third leg of the 2024 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour season,

The two have finished in the top two at both events held so far and resume their rivalry from Wednesday at the historic venue, the WGAI said.

In between, DLF Academy trainee Hitaashee also topped the Thailand Tour Qualifying School where Sneha finished tied for the 33rd spot.

Sneha and Hitaashee shared second place when amateur Nishna Patel won the opening leg in Pune and in the second leg, Sneha edged out her long-time rival.

Early leader

Hyderabad’s Sneha, winner of the 2023 Hero Order of Merit, has taken the early lead once again with Gurgaon-based Hitaashee in close pursuit.

Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal are expected to be the other leading contenders in the third leg.

Some of the other top names of the Hero WPGT are headed to South Africa for the Sunshine Ladies Tour including Vani Kapoor, Tvesa Malik, and Neha Tripathi.

A few others like Amandeep and Seher will also join them for some events.

An interesting feature of both events this season has been that the top three finishers have all returned sub-par scores, underlining the improvement in the quality of women’s golf in India.

A total of 29 girls will tee off at the Tolly and the field includes two amateurs, Anaahat Bindra and Sinjini Mukherjee.
