Sneha, Amandeep lead four-strong group into LET Final Qualifiers

Six Indians will contest the Final Qualifiers of the Ladies European Tour (LET) Q School over five rounds from Monday at the Royal Golf and Al Maaden courses in Marrakech, Morocco, with the top 20 and ties gaining tour cards for the 2025 season.

The fifth and final round of Qualifying School will be played at the Al Maaden course.

In all, 11 Indians were in the 54-hole Pre-qualifiers from whom Sneha Singh, Amandeep Drall, amateur Avani Prashanth and Vidhatri Urs earned starts at the Final Stage along with 97 others.

They will be joined by 2024 Order of Merit topper Hitaashee Bakshi and Vani Kapoor who had limited LET status for the 2024 season and is required to play for full access.

At the par-73 Norria Golf Club, Hyderabad’sSneha Singh (69-73-75) finished on 2 under par 217 and was tied for fourth place.

Golf Club Rotana saw Panchkula-based Amandeep Drall (71-73-70) end on 2 under 214 for sole fifth while Avani Prashanth, who after rounds of 73-72-72 was 1 over 217 and tied for ninth place.

Bangalore-based Avani has plans to turn professional if she earns LET status.

Mysore’s Vidhatri Urs, who was tied for first after the opening day at Samanah Club by Nicklaus took a share of 14th place 14 with rounds of 68-77-75 on 4 over 220.

Three-way tie

According to the LET website, American Annika Borrelli won by five shots at Noria Golf Club with New Zealand’s Amelia Garvey and French amateur Vanessa Bouvet topping the leaderboard at Golf Club Rotana.

Ireland’s Anna Foster, American Zoe Slaughter and Welsh amateur Darcey Harry shared first place at Palm Golf Ourika, while Australia’s Justice Bosio, Nigeria’s Georgia Iziemgbe Oboh and Iceland’s Ragga Kristinsdottir ended the week in T1 at Samanah.

The Royal Golf Marrakech, designed by Gustave Golias and 1907 The Open champion Arnaud Massy first opened in 1927 with four holes and expanded to nine the following year.

In 1933, they remodelled the course which now spans 27 holes, a par-73 championship track and the New Course, a nine-hole par-36 layout that opened in 2007.

The 18-hole Al Maaden Golf Marrakechis a par-72 championship course over 7,184 yards designed by Kyle Phillips who has blended Moroccan and Scottish touches to the venue that faces the Atlas Mountains.
