21st IndianOil Servo Masters set for tee-off at Digboi Golf Links

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Assam Oil Division) in Digboi will play host to the 21st edition of the IndianOil Servo Masters Golf tournament from Wednesday with Rs 60 lakh as the prize purse.

The event will be played under the aegis of the Tata Steel Professional Golf Tour of India at the picturesque Digboi Golf Links.

The Servo Masters will feature a field of 117 including 115 professionals with the top 50 and ties will make the cut after round two.

With the PGTI part of the Official World Golf Ranking system from the start of the 2019 season, the Digboi event will also be carrying world ranking points.

The field features top professionals including Manu Gandas, Yuvraj Singh Sandhu, Akshay Sharma as well as former champions Shamim Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Shankar Das, Harendra Gupta, and Sanjay Kumar.

Open field

The overseas challenge is led by Sri Lankans Anura Rohana, Mithun Perera, N. Thangaraja and K. Prabagaran.

Md Zamal Hossain Mollah, Badal Hossain, Md Sayum, and Md Akbar Hossain are in the field from Bangladesh.

The local professionals in the field are Deepraj Chetia, Karanbir Singh Lall, Biren Karmakar, Deven Bhumij, Dulal Kalowar, Bipon Murah, Arun Gowala, and Binod Gogoi.

The two amateurs are Alok Barua and Jakir Hussain.

The Digboi Golf Links is one of its kind in terms of ambiance as it is situated among lush tea estates and thick forests.

It is bordered by the Dehing forest reserve on three sides and the Patkai Hills on the fourth and the par-72 course runs over 6,329 yards.
