The Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour season resumes after a break with its leading stars returning to action in the ninth leg to be played at the Colver Greens course in Hosur, near Bangalore.

Led by in-form Hitaashee Bakshi, a field of 37 will tee off on Wednesday in the Rs 13 lakh event as the tour visits Tamil Nadu for the first time this year.

The season’s multiple winners Hitaashee Bakshi and Sneha Singh, also the 2023 Hero Order of Merit winner, are in the field, including some upcoming amateurs and rookie pros.

Hitaashee has divided her time between the domestic circuit, where she has missed only one event, and international events on the Thai LPGA and in Singapore, which fetched her a third place finish at the Singapore Ladies Masters.

“I am ready to play anywhere I get a chance and opportunity to improve,” said Hitaashee recently, after losing a good part of 2023 due to injury.

Good platform

“I am playing well and am keen on getting to higher international levels and the Hero WPG Tour has provided me with a great platform at home.”

Sneha has also had some exposure in Thailand and is keen on challenging Hitaashee for the Order of Merit.

The field includes all the professional winners this season, with Hitaashee and Sneha accounting for four of the eight events so far.

Amandeep Drall, Gaurika Bishnoi and Anvitha Narender, the latest to join the winners’ circle, are also in the draw. Amateur Nishna Patel, who won the opening leg, is not playing this week.

The list of promising amateurs includes Saanvi Somu, Mannat Brar and Keerthana Rajeev, while pros like Jasmine Shekar and Vidhatri Urs will be looking for breakthrough wins.
