Arin, Parth bring in sub-par cards at NGC junior talent tournament

The King of Swings with their trophies during the presentation ceremony along with owners Raghvendra Nath and Mita Gowande after winning the Mumbai Golf League at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club last Sunday. Eight teams participated in the two-day event which had four finalists – Kings of Swings, Evergreen Golfers, Swinging Samurais and Ninjas. King of Swings secured 13 points in the final leg.

Arin Ahuja in the Advanced A category boys event recorded a sub-par score to emerge winner at the recent 10th JTP tournament at the Noida Golf Course, finishing on a 1-under par 71. He was well ahead of Islaam who was runner-up in this event that saw a large number of categories being held and a sizeable participation.

Sachin Chouhan topped the lead Advanced A-plus event with a 1-over 73 ahead of Arjun Gulati, while in the girls Advanced A class, Khushi Dawar emerged best with a card of 91 ahead of runner-up Mallika Susanah Ahluwalia (94) with the NGC course looking in good shape after winter rains.

Close competition

There was close competition in other categories, notably in the NGC Advanced B and Advanced D boys in which the winners and runners-up were decided on count-back. In the former category, Vinamra Anand and Ayush Pannu were tied on cards of 84 before the win was decided in Vinamra’s favour.

In the Advanced D class, Jay Handa, Kanav Chauhan and Anshh Dubey were all locked on 1-over 73 before being declared finishers in that order, with Kanav and Anshh sharing second place.

Parth Raman Sood had the best card of the event with a 2-under 70 in the boys Advanced C category ahead of Arav Shah (77), while in the girls event, Serena Sabherwal (80) and Vanya Bansal (81) finished in that order. In the girls Advanced D category, Zara Anand and Nora Beniwal emerged first and second.

In the Advanced E event, Mudit Aggarwal and Tejas Upadhyaya were first and second in the boy’s competition while Nyra Singh was the girls winner.

Other toppers on the day at the NGC included Tanvir Singh, Aarav Gupta, Shevan Bakshi, Nikunj Singhal, Mokshaa Swarup, Arihaan Beri, Swasthi Gupta, Raghav Bhargava, Rhea Chadha, Shivansh Kapoor, Arul Jha and Ebrahim Saleem Zahidi.
