The stage was the Hero World Challenge launch at the Albany Golf Course. but event host Tiger Woods had to field queries about the looming PGA Tour-LIV Golf deal too.
Meanwhile, reports said PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has confirmed he would be meeting the governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Yasir Al Rumayyan next week and that the December 31 deadline for a merger between the two entities was still very much on.
“Were having conversations with multiple parties,” Monahan was quoted as saying at the New York Times DealBook Summit in New York on Wednesday.
“The deadline for our conversations with PIF, as you know, is a firm target. I’ll be with Yasir next week. And we continue to advance our conversations. And I think it’s pretty well known that there’s a large number of other interested parties that we’re also pushing to think about.”
