LIV Golf superstar Joaquin Niemann of Chile will be seen in action at the $2 million International Series India presented by DLF early next year.

The 2024 International Series champion Neimann is the latest to confirm participation at the first LIV-backed event in India, which will be played at Gurgaon’s DLF Golf & Country Club from January 30 to February 2, 2025.

Runner-up in the 2024 LIV Golf individual standings behind Jon Rahm, Niemann, 26, won at Mayakoba and Jeddah besides taking second place at in the UK and Chicago events.

The Chilean had six other top 10 finishes during last season’s 13-event schedule, making him one of the most consistent performers through the year before narrowly missing out on top honours to two-time major champion Rahm.

Captain of Torque GC in the LIV Golf League, Neimann joins defending US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau of the US, India star Anirban Lahiri and England’s Paul Casey for the tournament.

Big win

Neimann won the season-ending $5 million PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers earlier this month in Riyadh in a thrilling play-off, edging past 2022 The Open champion Cam Smith and Caleb Surratt of the US.

That result and a third-place finish in the 2024 season opening International Series Oman, gave Niemann, a two-time PGA Tour winner, the International Series Rankings top spot.

International Series India presented by DLF is the first tournament on the LIV Golf-backed series to be played on the sub-continent.

The series is a 10-tournament elevated group of events on the Asian Tour schedule that will also be played in Macau, Morocco, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia, besides other destinations to be announced.

The International Series was first introduced in the 2022 season through a landmark investment with LIV Golf.
