Jasmine Shekar produced the lone bogey-free round on the final day of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour’s 2024 season at Boulder Hills GCC in Hyderabad on Friday for her second win of the year.
Jasmine topped the 13th leg at Golden Greens near Gurgaon as well to become the fourth player to win more than once during the season, the WGAI said.
Overnight joint leader Amandeep Drall was marginally ahead after the first nine holes before Jasmine produced four birdies in a row from holes 14 to 17 and parred 18 for a 4-under 68 for a convincing four-shot win.
After two early dropped shots, Amandeep had edged ahead with three birdies on the front nine. But a double bogey on the par-5 14th proved costly and despite a birdie on 16, she could not match Jasmine’s run on the back nine.
Amandeep (72) finished at 4 under 212 in sole second place.
At one point, Hitaashee Bakshi with two birdies on the front was alongside Jasmine with Amandeep ahead by one at the turn.
The Order of Merit winner then gave away back-to-back bogeys to fall out of contention and a chance to close the season with a fourth win.
Four-way tie
Hitaashee ended with 71 and tied for third place with Gaurika Bishnoi (70), Vidhatri Urs (70) and Nayanika Sanga (72) on 3 under 213.
With earnings of Rs 16.55 lakh, Hitaashee sealed the Hero Order of Merit, while Amandeep was second with earnings of Rs.13.42 lakh.
Sneha Singh, Khushi Khanijau and Jasmine Shekar were third, fourth and fifth respectively and all of them crossed the Rs.10 lakh mark in earnings.
Sri Lankan amateur Kaya Daluwatte (69) with the day’s second-best score, was tied seventh with Sneha (74) while Ananya Garg (72) was ninth. Kaya also won the prize for best amateur.
Ridhima Dilawari (71) and Anvitha Narender (75) tied for tenth place on 4 over 220.
At the end of the season, Hitaashee and Vidhatri won three times each while Sneha and Jasmine finished with two titles each.
Amandeep, Gaurika, Anvitha Narender and Vani Kapoor won once, and the season’s opening event was won by amateur Nishna Patel.
