Jasmine extends lead to two shots at BGPC leg of Hero WPGT

Jasmine Shekar carded a steady level par 70 to extend her lead to two shots with a day to go in the opening leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour 2026 in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Jasmine had a bogey-free first 12 holes at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club including birdies on holes five and 11. She then stuttered dropped shots on 13 and 14 to finish with a 70.

Ridhima Dilawari shot the day’s best of 3 under 67 at the Rs 17 lakh event with two birdies against one bogey in the front half and three birdies against one bogey on the return. 

Starting five shots behind Jasmine, Ridhima now trails the leader by two.

Lavanya Jadon dropped to third with a 72, which included two bogeys and no birdies, but at three behind she is still within range of the leader.

Amateurs accounted for two of the three sub-par cards on Wednsday, Zara Anand and Kashika Misra both returning 69s. Zara was sole fourth on 2 over 142.

Steady going

Amandeep Drall added a 71 to her opening 72 and at 143 she was fifth, while Kashika shared sixth place with Sneha Singh (72-72).

Amateur Aradhana Manikandan (71), Ananya Datar (71), Shagun Narain (72) and Jahanvi Bakshi (73) were tied for eighth on 145.

Saanvi Somu (76-71) improved by five shots from her first round, but was still way behind with a 147, in 12th place and 10 behind the leader.

A total of 27 players made the cut, which fell at 156.

With just three shots separating the top three and another big group of players snapping at their heels, competition for top honours promises to be intense. 

Jasmine will go out on Thursday alongside Ridhima and Lavanya Jadon, while Zara and Kashika feature in the second to last group alongside Amandeep.
