Delhi Challenger 2024 winner John Parryof England andNew Zealand’s Daniel Hillier will be in the field for the 58th Hero Indian Open to be played from March 27 to 30 at the DLF Golf and Country Club.

The Hero Indian Open, sanctioned by DP World Tour and Indian Golf Union, will see a total of 138 players from close to 30 countries battling it out for a $2.25 million prize, the organisers said.

Both Parry and Hillier are in the top five of the Race to Dubai rankings on the DP World (European) Tour.

Parry, who is currently third in the rankings, won the Delhi Challenge on the Hotelplanner Tour last year. The Englishman then won twice more on the feeder tour and added his first win on the DPWT in 14 years at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

Parry made a hot start to the 2025 season with a tied eighth finish at the Australian PGA, was joint runner-up in the Alfred Dunhill in South Africa and won in Mauritius followed by another runner-up finish in Kenya.

Also in red-hot form is 25-year-old Hillier, runner-up at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic. The Kiwi has recorded Top 20 finishes in Australia, South Africa, Bahrain and Qatar and is fifth 5 in the current R2D Standings.

More champions

Among other leading stars from the current Race to Dubai rankings are three other winners from the ongoing season.

They are Nedbank Golf Challenge winner Johannes Veerman (no. 8 on R2D), Callum Hill (11), Joburg Open and Ryggs Johnston (14), ISPS Handa Australian Open. Also in the field is Jayden Schaper, no. 15 on the latest rankings.

The Hero Indian Open is part of the DPWT’s Asian Swing, which started in Singapore and ends with two events in China.

The best-placed player after the swing gets an exemption into the Genesis Scottish Open, which is co-sanctioned with PGA Tour.

Another incentive for all DPWT players is that they get points towards the Race to Dubai, at the end of which the top 10 not already exempt from the PGA Tour, earn dual PGA Tour membership for the following year.

Entry to the Hero Indian Open is free for spectators across all four days of the event.
