The Indian Golf Union has asked four top teaching professionals will conduct refresher courses across all ages at the National Golf Academy of India.
The step is one of the IGU’s key projects to target the development of skills and is also an attempt to take the game to more people across the country. The courses will be online and available for all interested.
They will be conducted in categories A, B, C and D from over the next three days.
Indrajit Bhalotia and Amandeep Johl will conduct the A and B refresher courses, while Deepinder Khullar and Monish Bindra will handle the Category C and D courses.
All four coaches have played at a significant professional level including on the Asian Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India circuit.
Intense sessions
For Categories A and B, the sessions will last from 7.30 am to 12.30 pm, while Categories C and D will have sections from 8 am to 1 pm.
The sessions will include modules on pre-swing and in-swing, putting, ball flight laws, technology and training aids, equipment, the mental aspect of the game, biomechanics and injury prevention.
The IGU and the coaches have also arranged guest speakers for each of the three days, who will round off the proceedings.
This will be the first of many such refresher courses in the pipeline, said IGU president, Brijinder Singh. The programme is being run by the National Golf Academy of India.
