Indian Golf Union president Brijinder Singh on Monday appointed retired Sikkim High Court chief justice Permod Kohli as the returning office for the ruling body’s December 15 election.
Justice Kohli’s appointment supersedes that of former Allahabad High Court judge O.P. Garg.
The IGU’s bi-annual election is slated for December 15 with the pre-poll process now put back by two days from the original date of December 2 to December 4 as per a notice from Justice Kohli.
The change in RO will not affect the actual poll date following a suggestion from Indian Olympic Association president P.T. Usha that the process be competed as per the notified schedule.

With the powers vested in me as per the National Sports Development Code 2011 and also approved by the majority of the Governing Council of the Indian Golf Union, I have appointed Justice (Retd) Permod Kohli as the Returning Officer to conduct the IGU Elections on 15 December 2024.
The fresh election schedule and other instructions shall be forwarded to all stakeholders by the Returning Officer, Justice (Retd) Permod Kohli in due course.
