Hitaashee takes season’s third title at 14th leg of Hero WPGT

Hitaashee Bakshi capped her start-to-finish run at the 14th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour with a four-shot win at Vooty Golf County on Sunday.

Order of Meri leader Hitaashee joined Vidhatri Urs as the second triple titlist with cards of 67, 70 and 71 to total 8 under par 208 in Vikarabad.

The Mysore-based Vidhatri took a good runner-up placing with a closing 3 under 69 and a three day total of 4 under 212.

Hitaashee, 20, took home a winner’s cheque of Rs.1,44,000 presented by Vooty Golf County general manager Rupinder Gill.

Shweta Mansingh (72-75-72) finished on 3 over 219 for sole third place. Amandeep Drall (72) was tied for fourth with Ananya Garg (73).

Hitaashee, who led by six shots after 36 holes, was off the blocks quickly on Sunday with two birdies in her first three holes.

A sedate stretch followed during which the DLF golfer dropped a shot but made up with her third birdie on the front nine to turn in 2 under 34.

Minor blip

On the back nine Hitaashee parred eight times and closed with a bogey for a 71, her third straight under par round of the week.

Vidhatri, who birdied the first, fifth, eighth and 15th holes dropped just one shot on the third on a solid final day.

Shweta had four birdies against four bogeys in a par round of 72, while Amandeep Drall also had four birdies and four bogeys.

Khushi Khanijau (73) and Sneha Singh (75) were tied for sixth at 6 over 222, while Rhea Purvi Saravanan (72) and Nayanika Sanga (80) ended tied eighth.

Jasmine Shekar (71), Anvitha Narender (72) and Yaalisai Verma (75) were tied tenth.

There were two eagles on the final day, as Khushi Khanijau holed out her second shot on the par-4 10th and Jasmine opened the day with an eagle on the par-5 first.

Hitaashee (Rs.15,79,500) with a lead of over Rs. 3 lakh has also sewn up the Hero Order of Merit ahead of Sneha Singh (Rs.12,70,783).

Amandeep Drall and Khushi Khanijau are currently third and fourth while Jasmine Shekar is fifth.

The 15th and the final leg of the Hero WPG Tour is scheduled at the Boulder Hills course in nearby Hyderabad.
