Domestic tour Order of Merit leader Hitaashee Bakshi and fellow professional Seher Atwal will play the 2024 Singapore Ladies Masters at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club.

They will be in the field of 132, including 12 elite amateurs vying for top honours in the China Ladies Professional Golf Association event.

The Singapore Ladies Masters is scheduled to return to the Masters course at Laguna National and will be played from June 14 to 16.

Hitaashee and Seher will be joined by decorated teen amateur Mehreen Bhatia.

Hitaashee is a multiple winner on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour and also plays on the Thai LPGA, where she topped the Qualifying School this year.

Sixth on the 2024 money list, Seher is another repeat winner on the domestic tour and has also been playing on the Ladies European Tour.

This is her second appearance at the Singapore Ladies Masters.

Bright start

Mahreen a silver medallist at the US Kids World Teen Championships in 2023 was also on the podium at the US Kids European event.

She also won the Faldo Junior Middle East Championships at Dubai in 2023 and in November last year she added the Faldo Abu Dhabi event title also.

The Singapore Ladies Masters will be the sixth leg of this season’s CLPGA Tour and carries a prize purse of US $100,000, with the winner receiving $15,000.

At the inaugural Singapore Ladies Masters last July, Singapore’s amateur standout Shannon Tan delighted the home crowd with her win at the expense of several seasoned professional rivals.

With the tournament offering Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings points, Shannon, who turned pro this January gained a crucial advantage in her quest to qualify for the Paris Olympics.

Following her breakout win, Shannon triumphed at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open in February for her maiden Ladies European Tour title.

Lyn Yeo, tournament organiser and founder of LLD Sports said: “The Singapore Ladies Masters was the launch pad for Shannon and she deservedly went on to make an impact on the international stage, especially with her win in Kenya.

Good platform

“As we look forward to the return of the Singapore Ladies Masters in June, I’m excited to give our local girls and many others from other countries like India to a chance to test themselves and unleash their full potential against some of the best players from China and the region.”

Entries have been given to several promising golfers and invitations sent to several Asian countries to nominate their players.

The top 60 finishers and ties after the second round will advance to the final round on Sunday.

Exemptions have also been granted to leading players from the recently concluded Asia-Pacific Amateur Ladies Golf Team Championship for the Queen Sirikit Cup.

Marina Bay Sands and CarTimes Group will return as Official Partners of the event and details on other players and sponsors will be announced soon.
