Lavanya had five birdies against three bogeys in a round of at 2 under par 70 at the Gary Player designed course, the WGAI said.

Hero Order of Merit leader Sneha Singh was four-under after 13 holes before hitting a disastrous patch as she bogeyed four holes in a row from 14 to 17.

The stretch dropped the Hyderabad player to level par before a closing birdie ensured a 1 under card of 71 and a tie for second place with Anvvi Dahhiya, who had finished more than an hour earlier.

The highlight of Sneha’s round was an eagle – the only one on Tuesday – on the Par-4 second, where she holed her second shot. Overall, the former national champion had six birdies and the eagle against five bogeys and a double in a roller-coaster ride.
