Fourteen-time major winner and PGA Championship runner-up Tiger Woods has been on fire since his return to competitive golf.
His second place finish at the Bellerive Golf Course most recently saw Woods climb to 26th in the world rankings, all the way up from 1,199th place when he launched his latest comeback at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in December last year.
In all, Tiger Woods has risen 1,173 spots in the rankings, and will next appear in two events of the Fedex Cup playoffs. He is in the US Ryder Cup team as one of the vice-captains and will want to make the cut as a player as well.
US captain Jim Furyk still has four picks left for the 42nd edition of the event in Paris from September 28 to 30. So far, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler, and Webb Simpson have sealed their slots, while Woods has climbed from 20th to 11th place in the Ryder Cup ratings after Bellerieve.
Snedeker strikes it big
The affable Brandt Snedeker eagled a par four with a 179-yard second shot on his way to a record-equalling 11 under 59 on the opening day of the Wyndham Championship on Friday. He then went three under par on day two to stay atop the leaderboard.
The 37-year-old became only the ninth player to return a sub-60 card in PGA Tour tournament play and it came with his 10th birdie of the round, after he had opened with a bogey.
Ryder Cup captain Furyk holds the 18-hole record with a 58 in the final round of the 2016 Travelers Championship.
Drall on the move
Amandeep Drall made it back to back victories in the 11th leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour for a third win in four outings two shots clear of the field in Hyderabad on Friday.
Amandeep had earlier won the eighth and tenth legs of the tour at the Clover Greens course in Hosur near Bangalore. A final round of 75 gave her a 8-over 224 finish, two ahead of Tvesa Malik and overnight leader Khushi Khanijau.
The win lifted Amandeep to third on the Hero Order of Merit. Tvesa Malik and Neha Tripathi are the top two with one title each.

Unbelievable score by Snedeker on day 1 of Wyndham Championship. Lone Indian Golfer Arjun Atwal competing in the tournament and perhaps winner once missed the cut. Anyway good that you are covering all latest news on golf, thanks.
