Paris Olympics-bound Diksha Dagar and Shubhankar Sharma will both be in action at the mixed Volvo Car Scandinavian Open which tees off near Helsingborg in Sweden on Thursday.

With a shared 13th place finish at the Dormy Open Helsingborg last week, Diksha continues her Paris preparations this time at the Vasatorps Golf Club event jointly sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the DP World (European) Tour.

Diksha has been grouped with Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen and Adam Walling of Sweden while Shubhankar will open with Agathe Sauzon and France and Poland’s Dorota Zalewska later in the day.

The co-sanctioned event has a field of 78 women and as many men playing in the same groups for one prize fund and one trophy.

Shubhankar was T58 last year but missed the cut in 2021 and 2022 while the Hero MotoCorp-supported Diksha has not made it to the weekend in her past appearances at the event..

Good start

This season Diksha has had top-10 finishes in the Lalla Meryem Cup and the Joburg Ladies Open but none in her last seven LET starts, all of which have seen her finish in the top 25.

Later this season Diksha will play at two majors, the Evian Championship and the AIG Open besides the Paris Olympics. She is also scheduled to appear at the Scottish Open.

The tournament will see the field teeing it up in a 72-hole stroke play format with a cut for the top 65 professionals and ties after 36 holes.

Linn Grant, who made history winning the 2022 Scandinavian Mixed, is back in her hometown of Helsingborg.

Grant is a five-time winner on the LET and also won the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol. This will be her second LET start of the year and she tees off along fellow Swedes Madelene Sagstrom and Jesper Svensson.
