Diksha Dagar was joined on Friday by Ladies European Tour rookie Pranavi Urs and two others for the Dormy Open in Helsingborg, one of two successive tournaments in Sweden.

Tvesa Malik and Vani Kapoor return to the event where they made the cut last time and Diksha finished tied for eighth place. Pranavi is playing the event for the first time.

Tvesa and Pranavi were shared seventh early on in their rounds while Vani had just got going.

Diksha opened with a 2 under par 70 alongside defending champion and local star, Lisa Pettersson and Chiara Tamburlini at the Allerum Golf Club who both had 73s.

Pettersson’s win at Helsingborg last year was her maiden LET title.

In 2023, Diksha had one win in the Czech Republic and eight other top 10s including the Helsingborg result and third-place finishes at the German Masters and the Hero Women’s Indian Open.

Later in the season, Diksha will play the AIG Women’s Open besides the Olympic Games in Paris along with Aditi Ashok.

Well placed

Diksha went into the Sweden event ninth on the Ladies European Tour’s Order of Merit after her tied 20th finish at the Jabra Ladies Open.

Diksha, who shot 72-72 in the first two rounds, closed with a level par 71 for a 2 over par 215 total with two birdies and two bogeys at Evian Resort Golf Club in France.

Diksha, who finished third last year on the Order of Merit, still has a good part of the season and big events ahead including the Paris Olympics.

It was Diksha’s fifth top 20 finish of the season and she has two other top 25 finishes. Overall in nine starts, she has missed the cut only once.

Morgane Metraux of Switzerland overcame a shaky start to the final round on Saturday to claim her second Ladies European Tour title.

In the Order of Merit, Metraux jumps to 11th place. Compatriot Tamburlini is now third on 1,109.10 points while England’s Bronte Law leads the rankings on 1,222.15 points.
