Paris Olympics-bound Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs are in a group of seven Indians who will tee it up at the Amundi German Masters in Berlin from Thursday.

Besides the two in-form Ladies European Tour regulars, the others in the field at Golf and Country Club Seddiner See include Tvesa Malik, Vani Kapoor, and Amandeep Drall.

Domestic tour topper in 2023 Sneha Singh and amateur Avani Prashanth, who played the event last year, are in Germany on invitation in the 132-strong field.

Diksha, who will represent India at the Olympics alongside LPGA regular Aditi Ashok, finished third at the Berlin event last year after holding the lead at one stage.

The August 7 to 11 Games golf competition will be her second after Tokyo while Aditi will be making her third Summer Olympics appearance.

High stakes

Pranavi took a good seventh place last week at the Aramco Series Korea in Seoul, while Vani, Tvesa and Amandeep are trying to regain their LET playing rights.

Sneha Singh, 2023 winner of the domestic Hero Order of Merit and playing events around Asia recently, will be keen to earn points while Avani, who is likely to turn pro at year-end would like to add another professional title to the LET Access Series event she won last year.

Currently ninth in the LET Order of Merit where she finished third last year, Diksha is looking at every event as preparation for Paris. “All events from here on will be like an Olympics for me,” Diksha told Fit India Champions podcast host Ekta Vishnoi recently.

Czech Republic’s Kristyna Napoleaova who beat England’s Cara Gainer in a playoff last year. The field is back to defend her title in Berlin.

Also in the field are two former Order of Merit winners, reigning Race to Costa del Sol champion Trichat Cheenglab of Thailand and South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace.

Four winners from the 2024 LET season will be vying to add another title including England’s Bronte Law (Lalla Meryem Cup), Alexandra Försterling (ATS Tampa), Mariajo Uribe (Women’s NSW Open) and Manon De Roey (Investec SA Women’s Open).
