All three Indians in the Amundi German Masters field at Brandenburg, Diksha Dagar, Pranavi Urs and Tvesa Malik, tied for 24th place as local star Alexandra Försterling won in a dramatic playoff.

The final day represented a recovery of sorts by Diksha who closed with a 5 under par 67 after rounds of 74, 73 and 73 to total 1 under 287 as did Pranavi and Tvesa at the Ladies European Tour event.

The latter two had their moments at the Golf and Country Club Seddiner See with Pranavi sharing second place after the first day and Tvesa returning a 67 on Saturday before a 1 under 71 on the final day.

Diksha stays ninth on the Order of Merit with 499.83 points from eight starts, Pranavi is 21st on 362.76 points from six individual events while Tvesa is 99th with 54.66 points from three starts.

Three others – Vani Kapoor, Sneha Singh and Amandeep Drall – missed the cut while amateur Avani Prashanth withdrew after the first day.

At the top, Försterling holed her birdie putt on the second playoff hole to defeat Austria’s Emma Spitz for her fourth LET title. All four have come in the last 11 months and she has now won her last two starts on the tour.

Diksha finally hit form on the final nine of the event. Making the turn at 1 over she racked up six birdies in the next eight holes to finish with 5 under 67.

Pranavi’s 69 on Sunday included four birdies while Tvesa, who made the cut on the line, had a 71.

Busy schedule

The three, all multiple winners on the domestic Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, will next play the Jabra Ladies Open at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France from Thursday.

Försterling and Spitz battled through the final day to finish as joint leaders after starting out level on 7 under. The tie continued over the final 18 holed as both carded 67s to total 12 under 276 and needed a playoff to decide the winner.

Both birdied the first playoff hole on the 18th  before Försterling rolled in a birdie a second time to become the first German to win an LET event on home soil.

England’s Gabriella Cowley fired a 6 under 66 to take third place on 10 under-par 278 while Germany’s Laura Füenfstüeck produced the low round of 8 under 64 to tie for fourth place alongside Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley, who carded a 65 (-7).

On Saturday, Tvesa’s 67 included an eagle, her best card in almost four years on the LET, though she had a 65 in South Africa in February where she won the SuperSport Ladies Challenge on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

Tvesa, had four birdies in the first six holes and five birdies in all with the opening eagle against two bogeys.
