Eight teams entered the knockout stage of the Delhi Golf Club League, powered by Vredestein Tyres, with the quarter- finals scheduled for Wednesday.

The top four teams from each preliminary group will play the second-placed sides in the first set of knockout match-ups.

The semi-finals will be played on Friday with the final slated for Sunday.

The four group leaders, Delhi Tigers, Bajaj Foundation, Coca Cola and Baale Golf will be taking on the second-placed  team from the other groups.

Promoted by the Delhi Golf Club, the event has used the four-ball better-ball match-play format and saw some close contests in the league stage.

Noteworthy performances included Kapil Kathpalia and Jaideep Ahuja from SwingKKings coming back from 6 down and winning all the last seven holes to beat Randhir Brar and Poonam Beesla of Radvin Birdie Machine.

Individual performances included Bikram Singh from Team Coca Cola, playing off a revised handicap of 2, firing 8 birdies in his final game to help his team take pole position,

Handicap reduction came into play whenever a player won two back to back matches. A hundred and two players from the final starting field of 308 had their handicaps reduced, leading to better balance contests.

Managed by Gran Canaria and Digraj Golf, the event has been backed by the likes of Krisumi, Grant Thornton, Three Sixty, Concor, Athletic Drive, Johnnie Walker – The Journey, Golf Plus, Oakley and others.
