Team BMW maintain early domination in Lloyd DGC League

Defending champions BMW Deutsche-Motoren have made a flying start in edition two of the Delhi Golf Club League.

Defending champions BMW Deutsche-Motoren have won six of their seven matches to lead their group with 22 points from two outings in the Lloyd Delhi Golf Club League.

MMG Coca-Cola won four of their opening seven matches against Sterling Swingers while Baale Golf also won four of their matches against The Pioneers.

Delhi Tigers had to overcome a fightback from Ardee Par Excellence to win four of their seven matches in the league powered by Vredestein Tyres.

Tough going

The league, being played at the historic par-72 Delhi Golf Club, features 13 days of hard-fought golf and will conclude in a grand finale on October 22.

The tournament is being played on a four-ball better-ball matchplay format in two stages, a round-robin preliminary followed by a knock-out.

In each playoff match, each team are fielding seven pairs (14 players) with all participants playing off 75 percent of their original handicaps.

The 20 entered teams have been divided into four groups. After the league stage, two teams from each group qualify for the knock-outs starting with the quarter-finals.

The teams competing are ‘The A-Team’, ‘Sterling Swingers’, ‘Baale Golf’, Eagles & Birdies’, ‘Christie’s Golf’, ‘SwingKKings’, ‘Shiva Motocorp. Land Rover’, Bajaj Foundation’, Tee Birds’, The Pioneers’, Team Coca-Cola’ ’24 Secure Lions’, ‘TEEm EDC”, Athletic Drive’, ‘BMW-Deutsche Motoren’, ‘Delhi Tigers’, ‘Birdie Machine’, Ardee Par Excellence,  robo4me and B i Luxury, with the last three being new entrants.
