Amandeep Drall returned to the winner’s circle for the first time in 2025 with a two-stroke win at the Hero WPGT Mysore leg on Saturday.
One of the most successful players on the domestic circuit, Amandeep carded her third straight 1 over par 71 to beat out Ridhima Dilawari at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club, the WGAI said.’
The win came almost 15 months after Amandeep’s last one in March last year and meant she would keep a streak alive of at least one title every year since 2015.
Saturday’s result made her the fourth different player to win his season after Vani Kapoor (3 times), Sneha Singh (2) and Rhea Purvi Saravanan.
Amandeep’s total of 3 over 213 was built on some steady golf especially on the final day when she tracked down overnight leader Rhea Purvi Saravanan before sealing the win.
Ridhima returned a 1 under 69, one of the few sub-par rounds recorded during the rain-hit week which made scoring a tough task. She would finish on 5 over 215.
Vani Kapoor, who had won the fourth, fifth and sixth legs, finished in a tie for third alongside Rhea on 6 over 216.
Comeback trail
Amandeep, a former runner-up at the Hero Women’s Indian Open, is looking to get back on the Ladies European Tour after losing her card a year ago.
She trailed 36-hole leader Rhea by two shots at the start on Saturday and began with a birdie to mount some early pressure.
When Rhea bogeyed the second hole, the two were tied for the lead. A see-saw battle followed though Rhea led again when Amandeep dropped a shot on hole six.
Rhea stayed ahead till hole 13 when she bogeyed to fall back again but was undone by a double bogey-bogey finish that dropped her into a tie for third with Vani, who also bogeyed 18.
Ridhima exchanged birdie for bogey on holes 13 and 14 and ended with a birdie to finish on 5-over.
Even approach
All along, Amandeep kept her calm and maintained her string of pars over the last seven holes for the win.
Khushi Khanijau (69) and Jasmine Shekar (71) were tied for fifth and Ananya Garg (70) and Vidhatri Urs (75) shared seventh place.
Lavanya Jadon (72) was sole eighth while Astha Madan (74) and Neha Tripathi (75) completed the top 10.
Vani stayed on top of the merit list with her three wins, two seconds and one third place in six starts.
Sneha Singh is second and Amandeep third with Jasmine and Lavanya fourth and fifth.
