Teetimetales goes to coach Robin Symes to help get better value on the course

Almost every golf/golf-related website these days has either an in-house coach, or tips on how to improve one’s game or at least a link through to someone well versed in sharing their knowledge of this sport that alternately sates and infuriates.

So, it gives me great pleasure – with the assistance of my good friend Suraj Ranjan – to provide readers and visitors a click-through link to an app created by Irish coach Robin Symes. Complete Golf Coach seeks to explain the fundamentals of the game in its different areas through a series of short, high-definition instructional videos and informed commentary.

Legendary coach

From Northern Ireland, Robin has been in and around the game for well over two decades. After some success as an amateur golfer, including helping Ireland win the European Team Championship, Robin cut his coaching teeth with legendary teacher David Ledbetter.

He was to spend a number of years with the Yorkshireman, including time as senior instructor at the David Ledbetter Academy in South Korea.

Inspired to strike out on his own, Robin opened his own academy, the International Golf Institute in 2009 and has since become a regular instructor for Golf Digest. IN his years as a teacher he has helped develop the likes of PGA Tour regular Sang Moon Bae and 2012 US Women’s Open Champion, Na Yeon Choi.

Besides helping professional and aspiring professionals for several years now, Robin is keenly engaged with teaching and helping golfers at all levels. Towards that, Complete Golf Coach is a tool to share his knowledge and help improve one’s golf, whether it be for competition, or just the sheer pleasure of being out in the open and swinging away at the ball with one’s friends.
