Birdie Machine edged past Tee Birds by half a point to enter the quarter-finals of the Lloyd Delhi Golf Club League in the final round of pool match-ups.
Birdie Machine tallied 10.5 points in the final set of matches with four wins from seven games, while Tee Birds managed 5.5 points.
The score gave the winners second place in Group A behind The A-Team 41 points to 31.5 points in the event powered by Vredestien Tyres.
Tee Birds finished their league engagements on a tantalizing 31 points.
In the opening session, The A-Team romped to five wins against SwingKKings to add 12 points to their tally, thereby topping their group. SwingKKings managed five points today to total 28 for the event.
In the second session, Bajaj Foundation played out of their skins against Christie’s Golf and with three wins and two draws, racked up 8.5 points against Christie’s 7.
Despite winning on each of the four days, Bajaj Foundation (33.5) fell short of qualifying for the knockouts by four points to Athletic Drive (37.5) . Christie’s Drive finished with 39.5 points.
In the final session, TeeM EDC won five games against B I Luxury for 12 points to their opponents’ 4.5. The winners finished third in the group behind Athletic Drive with 28 points.
